Blake Lewis signs record deal with 19 Recordings/ARISTA Records.
Clive Davis, Chairman CEO of BMG Label Group said, "Blake has a strong music sensibility and knows who he is and what his music should represent." He continued, "His collaborators are all knocked out by him." Like American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, Blake has been balancing studio time with performing on the American Idols Live! tour. "I love performing, so spending the summer on the road has been a great experience," said Lewis. "But I'm also enjoying my time in the studio and I'm very excited about recording my debut album. I'm thrilled to be working with 19 Recordings and ARISTA Records."
Blake has already spent time on The Billboard Hot 100 with his takes on the Zombies' "Time of the Season" and Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name," and looks to expand upon his recent success with his full-length album. Simon Fuller, creator of American Idol and founder of 19 Entertainment Label group said of Blake, "He brought something new to the competition and won fans all over America. I know they're going to love his first album, because it shows him off as his very best." Blake's album is currently scheduled for a late 2007 release.
